The Clinic for Neurology and Epileptology has existed since 1 July 2024 as a joint clinic with the Departments of Epileptology and Neurology. With over 50 beds and several specialised outpatient clinics, the clinic offers a modern and comprehensive range of neurological treatment for the entire spectrum of neurological diseases with the exception of stroke and intensive care treatment.
The epileptology department is part of the certified Lake Constance Epilepsy Centre. This includes, among other things, drug readjustment and further clarification with regard to surgical procedures or neurostimulation options, which we offer together with our network partners at several university hospitals.
The neurology department specialises in treating patients with Parkinson's disease and chronic pain disorders as part of Parkinson's complex treatment and multimodal pain therapy.
The special outpatient clinic offers you the opportunity to receive counselling as part of an initial contact.
The inpatient treatment of epilepsy patients takes place on two wards, one of which (Ward 31) is specially designed for the needs of patients with intellectual development disorders. Ward 33 has a video EEG monitoring unit with currently 2 beds for continuous recording of the patient's EEG for several days. EEGs are available 24 hours a day with synchronised video recording for the diagnostic and therapeutic improvement of forms of epilepsy that cannot be adequately treated with medication. Participation in drug trials enables treatment with new seizure-suppressing substances for patients for whom previous drug treatment has not led to freedom from seizures.
Ward 32 provides treatment for Parkinson's disease and multimodal neurological pain therapy.
Our interdisciplinary team, consisting of doctors, specially trained and certified nursing staff, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, neuro-psychologists and social workers, provides a comprehensive range of treatments within the framework of epilepsy complex treatment.
