Diagnostics - MRI

Magnetic resonance imaging

An MRI scan is a cross-sectional imaging of the brain that uses a strong magnetic field to provide a detailed visualisation of the brain tissue. Unlike X-rays, the magnetic fields are not known to damage human tissue. However, it is a method that must be applied very specifically and depending on the issue at hand. For this reason, it should be carried out by a doctor who has sufficient experience in epilepsy diagnostics.

At ZfP Südwürttemberg, there is close cooperation with the radiological practice in the central building of the ZfP at the Weissenau site, where the MRI examinations for our clinic are carried out. The images are then discussed in joint neurological-radiological conferences.
