Chief medical secretary

“Working in epileptology at ZfP Weissenau was a very enriching and fulfilling experience for me. As a specialist in neurology, I had the opportunity to work with a dedicated and competent team of specialists and to continuously expand my expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy. I particularly enjoyed the interdisciplinary collaboration, which enabled me to develop innovative and individualised treatment approaches for patients together with psychiatrists, psychologists and other specialists.

Epileptology is a field that requires in-depth medical expertise, but also demands a very personal and empathetic approach. At ZfP Weissenau, I was able to put the latest scientific findings into practice as well as maintain close contact with patients in order to improve their quality of life. The trust that patients have placed in me and the opportunity to help them on their path to greater stability and quality of life has always been a great motivation for me.”
- Dr Monika Meister
"I originally come from Lebanon and completed my medical studies in Kiev (Ukraine) from 2000 to 2007. After my further training in neurosurgery, I worked in various clinics in Germany. But my professional journey eventually brought me back here, to the Clinic for Neurology and Epileptology in Weissenau.

I started my first job in Germany here and at the same time found a second home. My time in Weissenau was special for me right from the start. The collegial interaction, the close teamwork and the human interaction create an atmosphere that goes far beyond routine work. We are not just colleagues here, but one big family that sticks together even in difficult moments.

What I find particularly fulfilling about my work is the direct contact with our patients. Especially with people with epilepsy. The conversations with them and their relatives, the feedback and the trust they place in us are priceless. People take centre stage here, not technology or time pressure.

At a time when many things are becoming increasingly digitalised and automated, I really appreciate the fact that here in Weissenau we have the opportunity to really take time for people. Doctor and patient still meet here at eye level, as human beings. For me, this closeness and personal contact are at the heart of good medicine.

That's why I work here, because I am convinced that humanity, team spirit and professional excellence are not mutually exclusive, but mutually reinforcing."
